Martin Luther King Breakfast Calls for Volunteers

This year, United Way took part in the City of Chicago’s annual Martin Luther King Day Breakfast. Dr. King’s birthday marks the beginning of a year of service. United Way and Good City are proud to partner with the City of Chicago to create community change and continue Dr. King’s vision through mentoring. At the breakfast, dozens responded to Mayor Daley’s call to action by expressing interest in helping a child reach his or her potential. United Way will soon make available mentoring opportunities in our communities. With hundreds of non-profits throughout Chicagoland, the need is great and the time is now. In the meantime, click here for volunteer opportunities and to learn how you can share this information with your networks and encourage others to register to be a mentor. Every day during National Volunteer week (April 18-24), various volunteer projects will be available for you to participate in across Chicagoland. Make this week part of your commitment to remember Dr. King’s work throughout the year. We hope you will join us to take action and create positive community change.

Save The Date! United Way’s Week of Caring in Chicago will be held during National Volunteer Week, April 18-24.
