South-Southwest Suburban United Way and CEDA Host Health and Human Services Summit

South-Southwest Suburban United Way and CEDA  recently hosted the first annual Southland Human Services Summit Thursday at Oak Forest Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009.  The half-day summit brought non-profit social service providers and business leaders together to discuss issues that are dramatically affecting the health and human services sector. 500 Health and Wellness Programs Apply for United Way Funding

United Way supports a diverse array of programs across the health spectrum to ensure that families have access to care. Recently, about 500 health and wellness programs throughout the Chicagoland region sought United Way funding. Requests for funding totaled approximately $50 million, of which United Way has only about $15 million to cover health and wellness programs. IBM Computers Donated Through T4T Chicago Stimulate Education

Child’s Play Touring Theater recently received two IBM computers through the Teaming4 Technology program (T4T).  T4T provides technology services to Chicago nonprofits by connecting local IT professionals looking to donate time or resources to health and human service programs. Child’s Play, a Chicago nonprofit dedicated exclusively to performing works written by children is using its computers to provide more efficient day-to-day operations and outreach to the community with educational programs. BP America Kicks-off Annual United Way Campaign

United Way of Metropolitan Chicago  is pleased to announce its partnership with long-time supporter BP America  for the 2009 annual United Way campaign. BP launched its employee giving campaign on November 2. Last year, BP employees contributed $521,603 to United Way, including a corporate gift of $261,002.
